The local close season has been made longer in order to reduce the

shooting area of the Colony. The local open season corresponds

his piercing call and in which therefore finding birds is a matter
of hard work and good dogs. The section refers only to par-
tridges and pheasants.
10. It will be noticed that pheasants are not allowed to be shot
at all. There are no pheasants in the Colony at present, but it
is proposed to lay some down shortly, and it is desired that they
should be absolutely protected for the present.
